Between 21st March and 24th March, President Zhou visited some major projects in Quito and Guayaquil of Ecuador,and Arequipa and Ilo of Peru, accompanied by President Bin Wu. Vice President Yuedong Xu and Zhaolai Zheng also inspected Ecuador and Peru respectively.
On 21st and 22nd, March, President Zhou visited Mr. Carlos Federico Auquilla Terán, the Ecuador Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Ministry, Mr. Weihua Wang, the consul general of Guayaquil, and conducted a business meeting with Mr. Washier, the President of Dynasty Company. President Zhou has also studied and arranged the work at Rio Blanco Project, 20,000㎡land purchased in Guayaquil, and gold concentrate trading business.
 On 23rd and 24th, March, President Zhou made an on-spot investigation for Don Javier Project, Mariela Project in Arequipa, and Morritos Mine in Ilo, he also attended a special sessions in the Don Javier Management Department and Morritos Mine Camp. President Zhou had an intense discussion regarding the Don Javier Project copper-molybdenum porphyry resources with the others, and made a series instructions on the development of the project, he pointed out that our exploration company is a distinct one, since we are not only an exploration company, but also a mining company with exploration ability, should take the lead and total control in the development and production of the project. President Zhou stated that we have studied the main orebody for Mariela Project, and plan to have more workload on drilling. Besides the control of the orebody, we should also study the ore-bearing rock mass around the main orebody, and analyse the orebody from the technological and economic aspects. Juan Romero, the Director of Morritos Project presented the present production progress, existing issues and prospect work, the following points were demonstrated: the workers should establish a sense of belonging, the construction of equipment maintenance service shop and staff training. |
